The Francis family connection starts with Jean Andre, the daughter of John H and Bertha M (nee MACHON),. Jean was born in 1930 and she is the youngest of two an older brother Albert John Dupré known as John. John H was a dental technician working for the admiralty. He worked and lived at several out posts before WW2 he spent the longest serving in Malta where he moved with his family during the mid1930’s working in Malta’s Main Military Hospital Bighi Hospital.(now the government offices of Malta)

John was one of four children those being:

Albert Ernest Born Saturday 13^th April 1895

Hilda Amy Victoria Born Thursday 3^rd November 1898

Edward William Born Friday 29^th December 1899

Both Albert Ernest and John Henry enlisted in World War One. Tragically Albert Ernest a Sargent in the Eat Kent Regiment was killed on6th September 1918 eight weeks before the end of the war on the Somme France. Edward W farmed near St Albans during the war unfortunately his farm was cut into two to make way for the M1 when it was built in the early Sixties.

Ernest Dupre Francis, one of 10 children, born Tuesday 21^st March at 8 Robertson Street Probably above his parents Shop. His parents James and Emma Eliza (nee Moon) were a quiet adventurous couple. Between 1851 and 1860 the couple had both married (I hope as I haven’t found their marriage yet) emigrated to America had two children decided they didn’t like living on 4^th avenue New York and returned to London and had their 3^rd child. They then lived at several addresses in the London area those being Kentish town and 65 Oxford Street now the site of . By 1867 the couple then moved to Hastings where they lived worked in there drapers shop.

James Francis according to 1881 census information was born around 1830 in Terling Essex I haven’t any information on that. But I do know that Emma Eliza was born in Plymouth around 1829, turn to the Moon family section to find out more.

I haven’t researched any more yet back on the Francis Side but I have been able to research more on Emma Eliza Moon’s family .
